The Dorothy Day House is a residence for homeless women, managed by Catholic Housing Services. The Seattle residence provides 41 single units for low-income adult women, many of whom are disabled. The  L.A. Catholic Worker Hospitality Kitchen (aka the “Hippie Kitchen”) could not operate without volunteers. The single-story residence still maintains much of its original ritzy, elegant charm, with such detailing as beamed ceilings, wainscoting, crown molding, and numerous crystal chandeliers throughout.
